Minetest – the free version of the popular Minecraft sandbox is open source and ad-free. In fact, this is a game engine that allows you to modify the game at your discretion, create your own worlds or play on multiplayer servers. Once you launch the app, you can start a solo exploration of the world or join one of the servers that have already been created by players. Regardless of the mode, you will explore a large procedurally created world, extract materials, build and create things from the obtained resources. In Minetest, there is a wide variety of parameters to customize the game for yourself, different modes: survival in harsh conditions, construction of various objects or battles against other players, the ability to replace textures if you are not satisfied with the standard, fast map generators, and there are versions of the game for other platforms: Windows, Linux, OS X and FreeBSD.
